Daniels Leads the Saints at SXU Battle at the Creek
MORRIS, Ill. — The Holy Cross College women's golf team turned in a solid showing this weekend at the SXU Battle at the Creek, hosted by Saint Xavier University at Nettle Creek Golf Course.
Jill Daniels (Mishawaka, Indiana / Penn HS) led the way for the Saints, carding a career-low 81 to secure a 2nd-place individual finish and set a new personal collegiate record. Daniels' consistent play and steady approach throughout the round paced Holy Cross and kept the Saints in contention on the leaderboard.
Katie Vaughan ( Tacoma, WA / Bellarmine HS) continued her strong spring form, finishing 4th overall, while Bianca Huizar (Winamac, IN / Winamac Community HS) also cracked the top ten with an 8th-place finish. Eva de la Rosa (Addison IL / Addison Trail HS) placed 13th, and Savannah Payne-Gall (Portage, IN / Portage HS) rounded out the scoring for Holy Cross in 17th place.
The Saints showed depth across the lineup, with all five golfers placing in the top 20 in a competitive field. They'll look to build on this momentum as they prepare for the next stretch of the spring season.
