Saints Capture Third Straight CCAC Title with Dominant Win Over Olivet Nazarene

The Holy Cross College women's tennis team cemented their dynasty on Friday, April 25, by capturing their third consecutive Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championship. The Saints put together a commanding performance, defeating Olivet Nazarene University 5-0 to secure the title once again.

The Saints got off to a fast start in doubles play, setting the tone for the match. Leah Gonzales Edwards (London, England) and Viktoria Savvidou (Limassol, Cyprus) rolled to a 6-1 victory on their court, while the duo of Sofia Rocha (Rio de Janerio, Brazil) and Nicole Martinez (Villavicencio, Colombia) mirrored that result with a convincing 6-1 win of their own. Meanwhile, Maren Woelfer (Granger, IN) and Emery Porter (Bremen, IN) were flawless, delivering a dominant 6-0 sweep to complete a perfect doubles showing for Holy Cross.

Carrying the momentum into singles competition, the Saints wasted no time in closing out the championship. Viktoria Savvidou posted a strong 6-2, 6-0 victory, and Jamison Geoffreys (Anderson, Indiana) matched her teammate's effort with a 6-2, 6-0 win. Leah Gonzales Edwards was unstoppable, shutting out her opponent 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the match for Holy Cross.

With the 5-0 team win, Holy Cross celebrates another historic milestone, continuing their reign atop the CCAC and showcasing the depth, talent, and determination that have become hallmarks of the program.
