
Saints win against St. Ambrose University
The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their conference play on the road, taking on the St. Ambrose University. The Saints delivered a strong offensive performance, scoring a total of 85 points to claim a decisive 85-67 victory.
The Saints set the tone early, shooting for 6 points from the three-point range, 10 points from the paints, and 3 points from the free-throw line in the first quarter, which gave them a commanding point start. Grace Adams (Elkhart, IN Penn HS) contributed 6 points, going 2-2 in the paint, while both Allie Caldwell (Zionsville, IN / Zionsville HS) added 3 points with efficient shooting, to help establish a solid start for the Saints.
In the second quarter, Holy Cross maintained momentum, where Allie Caldwell and La'Bria Austin (Buchanan, MI / Buchanan HS) both provided a boost with 5 points. Grace Adams also added another 4 points for the Saints. By halftime, the Saints held a the lead, totaling 32 points to St. Ambrose's 29.
The third quarter saw the Saints staying aggressive offensively against St. Ambrose University. Grace Adams and Kayliana Hammel continued their stellar performance with 5 points, Adams had an impressive block, while Hammel added 1 from the paint and 1 from the three point line. Holy Cross ended the third quarter with the lead 59-46
In the fourth quarter, the Saints finished strong. The Saints outscored St. Ambrose during the fourth quarter, not allowing St. Ambrose University to take the lead they needed to beat the Saints, the game ended 85-67.
