
Women's Basketball falls to Viterbo
1st Quarter: The Saints got off to a slow start offensively, scoring 17 points in the first quarter. They faced early struggles with tough defense from Viterbo. Leading the way in the first quarter for the Saints was La'Bria Austin (Buchanan, MI/ Buchanan HS) with 8 points. Although the saints struggled scoring, they played outstanding defense keeping Viterbo to only 13 points in the first quarter.
2nd Quarter: The same struggle for Holy Cross continued in the second quarter as Viterbo held the Saints to 17 points again. The Saints were down 34-38 at the end of the first half. In the second quarter the saints were led by Grace Adams (Elkhart,IN/ Penn HS) with 6 points and Allie Caldwell (Zionsville, IN/ Zionsville HS) with 7.
3rd Quarter: The third quarter is where Holy Cross brought out the offensive scoring, led by Grace Adams, who tallied 11 points and four rebounds in the period. They shot 33.3% behind the arc and 66.7 percent from two. The Saints would lead 62-55 at the end of the third.
4th Quarter: Finishing the game out was not as successful for the saints, they gave up 26 while only scoring 16 in the final quarter. Caldwell added nine points, showing poise from the free-throw line, while Adams remained a consistent scoring threat. The saints would end with a loss of 81-78.
