Saints take home massive win against Michigan-Dearborn

The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their non-conference play on the road, taking on the University of Michigan-Dearborn at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse. The Saints delivered a strong offensive performance, scoring a season-high 90 points to claim a decisive 90-52 victory.

 

The Saints set the tone early, shooting an impressive 60% from the field in the first quarter, which gave them a commanding 28-point start. Grace Adams (Elkhart, IN/ Penn HS) contributed 6 points and 5 rebounds, while Jordyn Smith (Granger, IN Penn HS) added 7 points with efficient shooting to help establish the early lead.

 

In the second quarter, Holy Cross maintained momentum, shooting 53.8% from the field. La'Bria Austin (Buchanan, MI/ Buchanan HS) provided a boost off the bench with 5 points, and Brooke Lindesmith added 4 points and 2 rebounds. By halftime, the Saints held a solid lead, totaling 47 points despite a few turnovers.

 

The third quarter saw a slight dip in field goal percentage, but the Saints stayed aggressive. Grace Adams continued her stellar performance with 7 points and 6 rebounds, while Lindesmith went a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, adding another 6 points. Holy Cross ended the third quarter with the lead.

 

In the fourth quarter, the Saints finished strong, shooting 62.5% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc. Audrey Tallent led the charge in the final stretch, scoring 8 points, including two three-pointers, to keep Michigan-Dearborn at bay and secure the victory.
