
Saints fall short in close game against IU Kokomo
The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their non-conference play today, when they traveled to IU Kokomo to take on the Cougars. It was a competitive first quarter and the Saints outshot IU Kokomo, but were only shooting 30% from the field. The Saints would lead 14-9 heading into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Saints struggled with defending in the paint, giving up 7 shots, and would trail 27-30 going into halftime. Coming out of the half, the Saints gained 10 points from Freshman Allie Caldwell, 3 shots in the paint, a 3-point shot, and 3 made free-throws. Even with 17 total points in the third quarter, the Saints remained 7 points below IU Kokomo. With the Saints down offensively, their deficit remained close heading into the fourth quarter down 44-51. In the fourth quarter, the Saints found their groove on offense and scored 21 points, led by Grace Adams and her 8 points in the fourth. Despite the late effort from the Saints, they would fall 65-69. With the loss, Holy Cross drops to 1-2 for non-conference play.
