Saints Get Win on Senior Day

Notre Dame, Ind.  The Holy Cross women's basketball team returned to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play this afternoon when they hosted St. Xavier University. Both teams struggled to find their offense in the first quarter, as the Saints would lead 12-8 after the first 10 minutes. Holy Cross would build on their lead in the second quarter, but St. Xavier would battle back late and hit a 3 at the buzzer to tie the game 30-30 entering halftime. The Saints would come out strong offensively in the third quarter and outscore the Cougars 21-14 to take a 51-44 lead heading into the final quarter. In the final quarter, Holy Cross would continue to build their lead and come away with the 73-59 victory. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 14-12 and 11-7 in conference play while SXU stands at 15-10 and 13-5.
