Saints Take Down Fighting Bees on the Road
Davenport, Iowa. The Holy Cross women's basketball traveled to St. Ambrose University this afternoon for a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. A slow start by both teams, found the Saint up 5-2 midway through the first quarter. A late lay up by Kayliana Hammel gave Holy Cross a 19-15 lead after the first ten minutes. The second quarter, the Saints struggled offensively and help onto a 32-28 lead heading into halftime. Holy Cross came out strong from the break and outscored the Bees 28-15 in the third to take a 60-43 lead heading into the final quarter. St. Ambrose would fight back in the fourth but were unable to overcome the Saints as Holy Cross would go on to fin 72-60. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 9-11 and 6-6 in conference play while St. Ambrose stands at 4-13 and 4-8.
