Saints fall to Bethel 3-1
The Holy Cross College men's soccer team returned to regular season play Saturday night when they traveled to Bethel University. Juan Perez got the Saints on the board with a goal in the 10th minute. Holy Cross would enter halftime down 2-1. The men's team battled valiantly on the road but succumbed to a 3-1 loss against Bethel. They showed resilience throughout the game, with their lone goal highlighting their offensive potential, yet they could not quite overcome the Pilots' strong performance. Holy Cross is currently holding a record of 0-1-0 for the season.
COACH COMMENTS
"I thought our players executed the game plan. Bethel is a quality opponent and a very good test for us to see what it will take to get to the next level. Though we loss the match, I was very pleased with our performance and thought everyone that went in the match gave positive energy. Being able to play 11 freshmen and sophomores against the #6 team in the country is encouraging to see as well. Overall, I feel this is a great teachable moment for our players and we can use this opportunity to grow on and off the pitch. It's my hope we can bounce back on Tuesday on the road against a good Rochester team." - Omar Gallo
