
Men's Basketball Take Home Another Win
First Half
The Holy Cross Saints had a strong start in the first quarter, demonstrating efficiency on both ends of the court. Offensively, the team shot an impressive 54.8% from the field, converting 17-of-31 attempts. Holy Cross's three-point shooting was solid as well, going 5-of-13 from beyond the arc, with standout contributions from Justin O'Neal (Dayton, OH / Dunbar HS) and Joey Garwood (Elkhart, IN / Penn HS). Justin O'Neal led the team with 15 points, showcasing his scoring versatility by shooting 5-of-8 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range while gaining a perfect 2-2 from the line. Joey Garwood added 14 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-3 from deep. Other notable contributions came from Aris Duni (Thessaloniki, Greece / Cardinal Stritch), who scored 4 points and grabbed 2 rebounds, and Davide Brembilla (Alghero, Italy / Don Bosco Prep), who added 6 points and 4 rebounds off the bench. Defensively, the Saints worked as a cohesive unit, pulling down 11 rebounds and forcing their opponents into mistakes with seven combined steals and blocks. With a balanced effort from starters and reserves, the Saints set a solid tone to kick off the game. The Saints would take the lead against Judson 44-40 going into halftime.
Second Half
The Holy Cross Saints delivered an electrifying second-half performance, showcasing their chemistry and dominance on both ends of the court to seal a statement victory. Justin O'Neal once again took center stage, dropping 16 points with deadly efficiency, including 6-of-11 shooting and a clutch 3-of-5 from the three point line. Nash Hostetler (Dublin, OH / Dublin Coffman HS) played his role to perfection, chipping in 7 points while showing his versatility as a facilitator with two assists and a key steal. Meanwhile, Phil Robles ii (South Bend, IN / Purdue Fort Wayne) was a force at the free throw line, going 7-of-8 and tallying 7 points, while also dishing out three assists to keep the offense going. Joey Garwood continued his consistent play with 9 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field. Aris Duni delivered 8 points and 4 rebounds in just five minutes of action. Davide Brembilla made his mark as well, adding 8 points on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting in the paint, including a three-pointer that ignited the bench. AJ Roseman (Indianapolis, IN / Bishop Chatard HS) was the unsung hero of the half, orchestrating the offense with five assists while keeping the ball moving with precision.
This was the second straight win for the Saints, marked by crisp ball movement, balanced scoring, and unselfish play. Holy Cross's ability to execute under pressure and their collective drive underlined why they are a standout team.
