Saints beat Taylor University in close game 65-64

The Holy Cross Saints faced a strong opponent Crossroads League Taylor University (8-4) in a home match up. The Saints started the game strong, showcasing a strong offensive performance in the first half, scoring 16 points from the field and 27 ponts from beyond the arc. Joey Garwood (Elkhart, IN / Penn HS) led the scoring effort with 14 points on 1-of-3 shooting inside the paint, including an impressive 4-of-4 from three-point range. Justin O'Neal (Dayton, OH / Dunbar HS) chipped in 8 points, going 4-of-9 from the field. At halftime, Holy Cross led 43-31.

Second Half:

The Saints faced a tougher defensive team out of Taylor in the second half. Holy Cross maintained their offensive rhythm, scoring 14 points from the field and 9 points from three-point range. Justin O'Neal  stepped up with 13 points, adding a rebound to his stat line, while Phil Robles ii (South Bend, IN / Purdue Fort Wayne) contributed with 7 points. The second half of the men's basketball game was a nail-biter, but the Saints senior Justin O'Neal clinched the victory with a clutch free throw in the final five seconds. The final score was final score of 65-64.
