Future Doctor of Dental Surgery
For Kayliana Hammel, choosing to become a student-athlete at Holy Cross College was more than just a commitment to basketball—it was a decision that shaped her future.
“Being a student-athlete at Holy Cross was the best decision I could have made coming into college,” Kayliana shared. “Basketball at the collegiate level has taught me so many life lessons that I’ll carry with me forever. What I’ll miss most is laughing and spending time with my teammates.”
During her four years with the Saints, Kayliana made her presence known on and off the court. She served as a team captain her senior year, earned CCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors, was named CCAC Honorable Mention, and was recognized on the NAIA All-Academic Team. She also etched her name into the program’s record books in multiple categories, and consistently excelled in the classroom—earning a spot on the Dean’s List.
“I want to thank Coaches Robbins, Dai, and Dobbs for giving me the opportunity to be part of this program and for always believing in me,” she said. “I’m also especially grateful to my teammates Jordyn and Grace. We came in together as freshmen, and my time at Holy Cross wouldn’t have been the same without them by my side.”
Up next for Kayliana is an exciting new chapter: she will attend the Indiana University School of Dentistry, where she will pursue her Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Congratulations, Kayliana! The Saints community is proud of all you’ve accomplished—and can’t wait to see what’s next.
