Katherine West’s journey as a student-athlete at Holy Cross College has been defined by strength, growth, and perseverance. A native of Bedford, Indiana, Katherine made the most of her time as a member of the women’s soccer program—both on the field and in the classroom.
“My biggest takeaway from being a student-athlete is resilience,” Katherine shared. “It wasn’t an easy journey, especially dealing with injuries. But I stuck it out, even when it was difficult for me physically and mentally.”
Teamwork also played a central role in her development. “You spend a lot of time with your teammates. There are ups and downs, and sometimes tough, uncomfortable conversations—but those are the moments that help you grow. That’s how you become the best version of yourself.”
Among Katherine’s many accomplishments, she’s most proud of graduating early while maintaining excellent grades and a strong GPA. Her dedication to both academics and athletics is a testament to her drive and determination.
“Being a student-athlete at HCC was a great overall experience,” she said. “I feel blessed to have received a Holy Cross education while playing the sport I love.”
Katherine also took a moment to thank the people who meant the most along the way:
“To all of my fellow women’s soccer players—past and present—thank you for helping me along the way. You’ve motivated and inspired me to keep going and do great things.”
